That's Not Deep... but this is Hilarious!
Have you noticed the increasing popularity of aged looking hipster photos with some kind of “deep” message written on them? They are all over the internet and the strangest part is, the messages often have nothing to do with the picture.
Thankfully someone (not me) took some of these images and added their own messages to them. So instead of falling short of being deep, they are now...

Bilocation Collaboration: "Yesterday's Regret" →
Bilocation Collaboration
My good friend Michael Rodecker and I have recently been collaborating in writing songs together. This bilocation collaboration has been an awesome experience thus far!
It all started out a few weeks ago when Mike sent me a recording of a cool guitar riff he had been working on. I took a listen to it and started laughing. A little about me, when I hear something musically that I really like I...
YAY for Procrastination!
Today, I’m going on a trip for training to be a Youth Leader at my youth group. It’s also 8:50am and I’m suppose to leave in a hour and a half and I have yet to finish packing. SO, here’s a another poem! YAY
“That’s who you really like. The people you can think out loud in front of.”
Sometimes you can’t speak
The words embedded in your mind
Only to the...

Harry Potter Is An X-Man
Here’s what I was getting at in that earlier post. It’s the summer, and in the summer, people talk about blockbuster movies. This summer, I’ve heard many people celebrate Harry Potter in one breath, and deride science fiction like X-Men in the next. I’m not going to judge anyone’s literary taste, but this seems like a false distinction to me (remember those?). Rather, I believe that Harry...

Sometimes I have my post prepared before Wednesday. Usually I remember it’s Wednesday before 10:07pm. I am 0 for 2. This isn’t going to be pretty. Let’s do some favorite one liners and call it a night! Here we go:
I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn’t work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.
I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my elderly...
The Origin of She!
Haven’t you always wondered: who is she and why does she say all these things?
Most people think it’s just one of those jokes that has some lost origin many years ago.
But I know the truth. ‘She’ is real.
And I can prove it. I have for you an actual snippet of a conversation that took place between ‘she’ and her counterpart (who will be referred to as...

"At some point we all look up and realize we are...
Here’s another one of my poems from my final creative writing project.
The world is full of secrets
At every corner lies truth
Unspoken thoughts are tangled
Misunderstood words move onward
Is anything real anymore?
Imagine
Imagine we are all in a game
Trying to find our way to the end
We attempt to get up
Scraping our knees against tragedy
Hitting our elbows against...

Man of Memes
A couple of weeks ago, Andrew established himself as a meme. While the meme he coined was original, he is not the first family member to do so. This week, I’d like to talk about the real progenitor of Gallagher meme-dom.
Well, tough. After all, this weekend is Father’s Day, and the Gallagher family’s most time-honored memes come from Dad.
A bit of background: many families have a treasured...

Busy week, Busy-ness card?
Hey so the last few days have been busy with good and bad things. So I only have time for a quick post. Here is my new business card (did I mention I’m a freelance graphic designer?):
So yeah that’s the whole post.
I’m off to an alumni event in NYC with my business cards at the ready.
See you next week!

More Acronyms!
As I have previously discussed on this blog, I’m fond of acronyms. In fact, I might think about acronyms more often than is healthy.
I’ve learned a couple of real beauties in the past few weeks, and I’d like to share them with you.
1. SWAG
I learned this one from my boss. It stands for “scientific wild-ass guess.” A SWAG is an estimate that avoids being utter...

Everybody Poops. But this wasn't one of those...
We share bathrooms with the rest of the floor at work. There is a single women’s room and a women’s room right next to it with two stalls. A fan of being able to do my thing on my own, I always opt for the single. Today, I knocked on the door and heard a voice from inside the single say “Hello?” so I went into the bathroom next door. I started to do my thing and through the wall I continued to...
Never underestimate the power of "I'd like that"
Relationships are a fickle thing.
We love them. We hate them.
We need them. We despise them.
We grow into them. We fall out of them.
Like anything else, relationships can go through cycles of changes. There are a series of patterns that occur.
For me, when I’m having a rough time relationship-wise, music is what keeps my head held high. And who else but John Mayer would be my go-to man...

Shakespeare has nothing on me.
On Wednesday, I have a huge final due in my creative writing class. I had to a long piece of 25 pages and a short piece of 6 pages. I chose to do 25 pages of poetry for my larger piece because I think I’m a pretty snazzy writer. I chose to use quotes from books by my favorite author, John Green, as the titles of the poems and then write the poems based off that. This is one of the poems...

Bob Newhart Gets a Phone Call from Lady Gaga
*Telephone ringing*
Hello, Newhart Talent Agency. Yes, this is Mr. Newhart. Oh, you… you’re looking for representation. OK, well, why don’t you tell me a little… a little about yourself?
I’m sorry. How do you spell that?
OK, got it. Is that, uh, is that related to… to Dada? …Dada, it’s an, an absurdist art movement that took place… Oh, I’m sorry. Please continue.
Uh-huh.
Uh-huh.
I’m sorry,...

In Memorandum....
How will the Gallagher siblings be remembered in the future? I think it will go a little something like this:
GREG GALLAGHER will probably become a successful something or other and donate a huge amount of money to some College which will then build a building and hang his picture in it. Gallagher is too common a name, so Lots A. Book Library probably won’t be named after him.
ANDREW...

I’m assuming that most of you reading this, with the exception of my dad (Hi Dad!), use Facebook. I’m guilty of not reading the messages sent to me on there. As of a few hours ago, I had 63 unread messages so I decided it was time to clean house. Among the endless message list I found a thread between my siblings and me from almost 3 YEARS ago. Since this blog encompasses the input of all five of...
